Founded by Alexandria Depuydt, ADS had grown from a few students in a friend's basement into a bustling center of education for over 250 students.
We have four well-equipped dance studios provide ADS students with all the necessities to work on their routines; including sprung floors, ballet bars and mirrors. Guests of our students can relax in one of the three comfortable lounge areas that feature books and puzzles for younger children and monitors to view the dancers as they practice.

Youth, Adult,
Pre-Competitive and Competitive
This is the foundation of dance. Ballet is graceful and develops discipline. Students learn: coordination, stretches-flexibility, terms, creativity through movement, steps and routines. Students are able to express themselves through body movement. This class runs anywhere from a half hour to an hour depending on the level of ballet. In the higher levels you progress to point work. This is for students for ages three and up including adults.

Pre-Competitive and Competitive
This form of dance is high energy, funky and athletic. Students learn popping and locking, basic break dancing moves and street combos. This class is offered to ages three and up including adults. Class is anywhere from half hour to an hour.

This form of dance is high in energy and you can make your own music. Dancer will learn: timing, rhythm, steps, exercise, floor work, routines, turns, combination’s, time steps as well as some Irish dancing. This class runs anywhere from 1/2 hour to an hour depending on the level of tap/Irish. This is for student’s ages three and up including adults.

Pre-Competitive and Competitive
The foundation comes from Jazz and Ballet technique. Lyrical is using your entire body to express the feeling and the words from the lyrics of the music. Dancers will learn to use their entire body to the music and express what they’re feeling through movement. This class runs anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour long. It is highly recommended to take ballet as it is the foundation of dance. This is for ages seven and up including adults.

Pre-Competitive and Competitive
Jazz is an expressive and energetic dance form that blends traditional movement patterns with modern steps. Students will learn jazz technique, as well as increase strength, flexibility, stamina, and musicality. Dancers will experience several styles of jazz, such as Latin, big-band, street jazz, and classical. Age appropriate material is presented in a fun and exciting manner for ages 3 and up.

A fun expressive and creative form of dance. It combines dance movement and drama in an enthusiastic and entertaining presentation. This program is a combination of jazz technique as well as dramatic games and character development. This class runs anywhere from forty five minutes to an hour. If you love to perform and enjoy the spotlight, this is the class for you. This is for student’s ages six and up.

Competitive
Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz ,lyrical and classical ballet. Dancers will learn improvisation, progressions and learn to use their body expressively to tell the story. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements. This class is 45 minutes to an hour long.

Pre-Competitive and Competitive
This form of dance is high energy and athletic. Students will be learning the basic break dancing and gymnastics along with Hip Hop dance. This class runs for 45 minutes and is geared to ages 7 and up.
Youth
This form of dance is athletic, funky and high energy. Students will learn to stretch and strengthen their bodies. Acro is a combination of gymnastics and dance. Students will also learn steps, routines, combinations, many jumps, floor work and turns. This class runs 45minutes to a hour long. It is highly recommend to take another form of dance. This is for student’s ages 8 and up.
Teens, Adult
For ages 16+.
A great way to introduce your little one to dance!
This is for ages 3-6years that love to dress up. We will be dressing to different characters every week like Ariel, Belle, Minnie and more. Children will learn a variety of dance; ballet, jazz and hip hop.
Class is limited to 10 dancers.

DANCE Camps | LEGO Camps
Our dance camps are a great way to introduce children to dance or strengthen and explore the dancers technique. Choose from a variety of themes and genres from Disney and broadway to hip hop, lyrical, intensive camp and more. Each week there is different themes for the age groups. Most camps the dancers will learn multiple styles of dance and be taught 3-4 routines during that week. There is a performance at the end of the week for family and friends on the Friday at 4pm to showcase the work.
Stability Lecture and Model Execution, Interactive Games, Lego Car Races, Stop Motion Animation and Lego Robotics! Each week will have different challenges. Pre-engineers will learn to problem solve and present their designs with Jeff and his assistants.

Alexandria has her BATD (British Association Teachers of Dance), Early Childhood Education and Development Service Worker diplomas. Alex has danced since the age of 2 in tap and ballet with Florence Abel School of Dance. Florence inspired Alex to become a teacher and open her own studio in 2000. Alex has been teaching dance for over 20 years. She also has experience in Irish, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre and Ukrainian Dance. She continues her education by attending various workshops in Ontario. Alexandria has won several choreography awards at dance competitions in many different styles of dance including musical theatre, contemporary and tap. Her passion for dance is showcased through her students and their routines. Alex is excited to be teaching along with her family, friends and senior competitive dancers.

Jeffrey has training under the BATD and Royal Academy of Dance and will be call in staff. You might have seen Mr. Teeuwen at UCC where he now works. Jeff has training in Ballet, tap, hip hop and lyrical. He continues his passion with gymnastics and other love of sports during the week.

Nadine has training in ballet, jazz, hip hop and tap. She has her Early Childhood Education and Development Service worker. She will be teaching tap as well as on call for additional staffing.

Audrey has been dancing her entire life in ballet, tap, jazz and bellydancing. She will be teaching ballet at the studio on Monday and Wednesday nights as well belly dancing Wednesday nights.

Amy brings a wealth of knowledge and fun to her acro classes. She will be teaching hip hop, jazz, ballet and acro on Thursday nights. Amy enjoys teaching our younger dancers and has had a home daycare for many years.

Alessia has a passion for dance and has been part of ADS Competitive team for many years. She has a Bachelor of Arts major in sociology double minor in religious studies and dance. She is recently and attending teachers' college. You will see Alessia during the summer months at camp and teaching classes.

Some of you might know Mrs. Russell as she is a teacher during the day. Mrs. Taylor is teaching ballet, jazz and critique during the week. We are happy to have her as part of the teachers. Taylor danced many years in the styles of tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical contemporary and hip hop on the ADS Competitive Dance Team.

Makayla will be teaching on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday nights in a variety of styles of dance. Makayla has danced since the age of three and continued her dance as she was part of the ADS COMP team for many years. She is now able to share her talent with the children. Makayla has a background in Paramadic and recently going to school to become school teacher.

Megan Canniff will be teaching at the studio on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Megan was part of the dance team at the studio and then went off to University of Laurier and earned bachelors of business and administration with concentration in marketing. Megan was also a feature dancer in Laurier Musical Theatre production 9-5 and dance team and Choreographed for the musicals footloose. She is excited to be back in her hometown and teaching at the studio.

Kayla Norton will be teaching on Thursday nights. Kayla has a passion of the arts including singing. You might have seen her in some musicals and she has been involved in Annie, Fiddler on the roof and more. Kayla has been part of the ADS competitive team. Kayla has a Degree Bachelor of Arts in Criminology. She is looking forward to seeing all the students again.

Shaina Gazerek is teaching stretch and conditioning on Tuesday Nights. She has danced for many years in the forms of ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary and hip hop. When Shaina is not at work, you can find her at the gym. It is great to have her back in the studio teaching.
Assistant
Arwen has been a part of the ADS Competitive Dance Team in the styles of hip hop, jazz, lyrical, contemporary and tap for many years. She will be assisting in the classroom a few nights a week.

Rylynn is helping on Wednesday nights with critique. She has been dancing since the age of 5 and her love of dance shows. Rylynn is part of the ADS Team and helps out in the summer with dance and Pre-Engineering Lego Camps.
